On our cluster
Open the same day.
- Who it is for
- A school or a group that does not want a machine to look after. This is the usual case.
- Who looks after the machine
- We do. Updates, backups, certificates.
- Where your data lives
- On our cluster, in a database that is yours alone: nothing is shared between two schools.
- What you should know
- You need a connection. It does not have to be good, but it has to exist.
On a server of your own
As long as it takes to rent the machine.
- Who it is for
- A school group that wants its own machine, and its own domain name.
- Who looks after the machine
- We install and update; the machine is rented in your name, and you keep the keys.
- Where your data lives
- On your server, with the host you choose.
- What you should know
- A server is paid for every month, school holidays included.
On your own hardware, in the school
As long as the on-site installation takes.
- Who it is for
- A school whose connection drops half the time — and it is this case that governs everything else in the product.
- Who looks after the machine
- You do. We supply the installation and the updates; nobody comes in without you opening the door.
- Where your data lives
- In the school. They do not leave it.
- What you should know
- Backups are yours to make. That is the price of independence, and we say so beforehand, not afterwards.
The choice is not final
It is the same image, the same software, the same database in all three cases — only the machine changes. A school that starts on our cluster and wants its own installation three years later leaves with its data, with no conversion and without asking our permission.
Your school's address
Whichever mode you choose, your school is given an address when it signs up — your-school.donskolia.com — and that is what your teachers will type the first time they open the app. It never changes afterwards: phones have recorded it, and breaking it would disconnect every one of them. You can add another, in your own name; it is added, it never replaces the first.
